- Belgium Position Overview Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership
- Provide authoritative mechanical engineering guidance on pipework, skid/module fabrication, equipment installation, and pipe supports for pharmaceutical facilities.
- Team Management & Mentoring
- Lead, coach, and develop project and site engineers, providing day-to-day technical direction and structured mentoring.
- Quality & Tracability Ownership
- Ensure all systems are installed to specification with full traceability of materials, welds, pressure tests, and inspections.
- Pressure Testing & Verification
- Define and oversee pressure test methodologies, including test limits, test media, hold times, and acceptance criteria for all process and utility systems.
- Technical Submittals, RFIs & Design Coordination
- Coordinate preparation and review of technical submittals, method statements, and RFIs, ensuring high quality and contract compliance.
- Process Development & Implementation
- Create and roll out standardised procedures, templates, and workflows for engineering coordination, QA/QC, RFI/submittal management, and documentation control.
- Client & Stakeholder Interface
- Act as the key engineering point of contact for client engineering, CQV, and validation teams throughout the project.
- Planning, Coordination & Delivery Support -Provide engineering inputs to construction sequencing, system boundaries, and prefabrication opportunities to optimise site productivity. Must Have
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification
- Minimum 10 years' experience in mechanical fabrication and installation, with at least 5 years in a lead or senior engineering role
- Strong working knowledge of pressure testing procedures, slope verification, and mechanical completion requirements
- Demonstrated experience on pharmaceutical or biotech construction projects (GMP environments preferred)
- Experience managing submittals, RFIs, and design coordination on large-scale projects
- Excellent communication skills with proven ability to engage and present to clients confidently
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems and pharma construction quality standards
