**About the role**:
**The role of a category buyer is to manage commercial terms for a specific commodity and ensure suppliers are capable of meeting Bekaert's quality, technology, and supply requirements. As a buyer, you will be expected to help manage all aspects of the supplier relationship including contract maintenance, target achievement, category strategy development and execution**:
**You will be part of the European Procurement Team and report to our senior procurement operations manager.**:
**Your Impact as “Category Buyer”**:

- **You will be responsible for managing commercial terms for the category Facility management for the 3 plants in Belgium and partly for the EMEA region**:

- You will manage all aspects of the supplier relationship including contract maintenance, target achievement, strategy development and execution
- You will identify cost drivers and activate tendering & supplier selection
- Your responsibility will be creating and managing tool content such as catalogues, purchase marketplaces and manage the buying channels with suppliers (eBuy, SAP)
- Develop and maintain the category spend analysis, savings reporting, and supplier passports (if applicable)
- You will develop a sourcing strategy towards the internal stakeholders, potential supplier base, type, and duration of contract to optimize/lower the TCO for Bekaert in the entire supply chain
- You will assist on the Supply Market Analysis, Industry Landscape, and competition & benchmarking
- You are responsible for analyzing historical and future business requirements for Bekaert globally within the category in terms of quantity and quality
- You will steer the management of specifications for important and critical products and services: ensure that the specifications are clear and available in the system and assure (delegate) the communication to the suppliers

**About You**:
**Essential skills & competences**
- You have a bachelor’s degree or similar through experience
- You have a min. of 2 years of experience in a similar role
- You have a good understanding of the purchasing processes and its policies
- You understand market dynamics, indexes, trends
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to manage internal and external customers
- You have strong negotiation skills and are a true problem solver
- You are a person with customer service focus and a positive mindset
- You are fluent in Dutch and English
