Accountant

Hi there We are **Cheqroom**, but will talk about us later...today is all about you We’re opening a new position for an **Accountant** to join our team

**What will you be doing?**

As an Accountant, you will support the team with daily transactional accounting and treasury activities. You will assist the business by ensuring the correctness and accuracy of the financials and reports, which will lead to strategic managerial decisions.
- Accurately perform daily reconciliations of cash, check and credit card transactions, and tally and file invoices. Resolve accounts payable and receivable issues or queries.
- Ensure compliance with company guidelines and procedures, as well as local regulations.
- Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements, Belgian GAAP.
- Support the implementation and usage of new financial tools keeping yourself up-to-date with the latest technology.
- Month-end closing procedures, review and develop monthly financial statements that include profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow.
- Tax declarations and local fillings.
- Financial and tax audits.

**Are you the one?**
- Have a minimum of 2 years of experience as an Accountant or a similar role
- Have experience and are familiar with Belgian law
- Fluent in English and Dutch, both verbal and written
- Have a strong quantitative and analytical capability
- You have a get-it-done and hands-on mindset. You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and do what it takes to get the job done with mínimal supervision
- You are data-driven, detail-oriented, and set your standards high.
- You have a proactive attitude towards learning additional rules and be open to continuous process improvement. Not shy about sharing your own ideas

**Bonus points if you**
- Have experience in software as a service /scale-up company
- You are familiar with IFRS
- Are not shy to be on camera. Have you seen our videos, by the way?
- Are a dog person (Just kidding...or are we?)
