As a Production Operator, you’ll start with a hands-on training program that lets you explore every stage of glass manufacturing. Once your initial training on day shift is complete, you will move into a 6-shift rotation designed to balance demanding work with personal time. What You’ll Do In the IS department, molten glass is transformed into precise shapes through molds, blown into final forms, and coated at the hot end. Your role is central to maintaining smooth, safe, and efficient operations, with a strong focus on quality. Key tasks include:
- Overseeing gob feeding systems, lehrs, and transport equipment, adjusting parameters and monitoring temperatures for consistent output
- Preparing machines for production changes and replacing worn components when needed
- Keeping work areas and machinery clean and well-maintained:
- Quickly spotting and reporting technical issues or process deviations:
- Performing routine quality checks, including weight, temperature, and heat measurements:
- Accurately recording process details such as production settings and mold numbers:
- Ensuring a smooth handover to the next shift Profiel Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Experience in manufacturing or a strong motivation to learn and grow within a production setting
- Willingness to complete training programs on day shifts at different locations
- Comfortable using computer systems for monitoring and reporting purposes
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- A positive, team-oriented attitude with a readiness to support colleagues when needed
- Flexibilityin taking on a variety of tasks, particularly during the start-up phase
- Normal color vision, essential for performing accurate visual inspections of glass products
