Grid Expert

As a Grid Expert, you will play a crucial role in managing the energy infrastructure across our portfolio in Belgium and The Netherlands. You will be responsible for engaging with key stakeholders such as Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and Transmission System Operators (TSOs), navigating the evolving regulatory landscape, and optimizing grid connectivity for our assets. A key part of your role will be ensuring energy availability for newly acquired land, working on long-term planning and securing necessary grid connections for future developments. In addition, you will support the management and optimization of energy infrastructure across our existing portfolio. - _More concretely, your responsibilities will entail: - Stakeholder management: Build and maintain strong relationships with DNOs, TSOs, regulatory bodies, and other key energy stakeholders to ensure smooth collaboration and compliance with evolving energy policies. - Regulatory navigation: Analyse and provide strategic solutions for challenges in the current regulatory environment, such as "Use it or lose it" policies, flexible grid connection contracts and grid capacity limitations. - Power upgrades: Coordinate and support power upgrades in the existing portfolio by coordinating the tender and execution of required grid connection works, developing forecasts and scenarios for future energy demand and generation. - Technical planning & integration: Manage and oversee the technical planning for integrating amongst others solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), EV charging infrastructure, and heat pumps into our assets. - Project coordination: Work closely with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure timely execution of grid-related projects. **Do you see recognize yourself?** - Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Management, Power Systems, or a related field. - Minimum 5 years of experience in grid management, energy infrastructure, or power system planning. - Strong understanding of energy regulations and grid connection processes in Belgium and The Netherlands. - Familiar with power grid operations, renewable energy integration, smart grid technologies, and energy storage solutions. - Able to manage multiple energy projects and coordinate between stakeholders effectively. - Capable of assessing complex grid challenges and providing innovative solutions. - Strong ability to communicate technical matters to non-technical stakeholders, influence decision-making, and negotiate with regulatory authorities. - Fluency in Dutch and English is required.
