Medical Science Liaison

**Job description Medical Science Liaison for Hospital business**:

The Medical Science Liaison within the Belgian Hospital medical team will be a highly motivated graduate pharmacist or master in biomedical sciences with a passion for high quality and relevant physician engagement based upon their own clinical and scientific credibility. The person will be providing medical and scientific input to allocated medical activities for the Pfizer Hospital department for their nominated brand(s).

Provide input to the medical Hospital meetings and lead in the delivery of allocated medical programs and activities, ensuring, through their contribution to cross-functional team working, that medical plans are successfully implemented to achieve short
- and long-term objectives.

The individual must have strong collaboration skills and be willing to actively partner with other functions to drive meaningful business results of the Hospital department.

**Responsibilities:**:In an environment with a culture of strong medical standards, the individual must bring a high degree of medical professionalism, credibility and astuteness in the following areas of responsibility:
**Scientific leadership and partnerships, customer engagement and leveraging insights**:

- Development and implementation of medical plans in line with global strategy.
- Support/lead medical activities and interactions with key experts and key external stakeholders on behalf of Pfizer and record all relevant customer interactions

(60% of the time including virtual interactions).
- Engaging and building relationships with clinical thought leaders and relevant organizations in the therapy area to gain insights to feed into medical strategies.

**Trainings and educational events, participation in medical conferences**:

- Participate and support Hospital medical update & training meetings.

Competitive intelligence:

- The medical expertise will include an understanding of relevant competitive activity including ongoing studies and product development initiatives.

**Required skill set**:

- Knowledge of the therapeutic area: Infectious Disease/Rheumatology/ Mycology or related area is preferable.
- Facilitate open discussion and debate among key stakeholders and build internal and external relationships through partnering, anticipating needs, fulfilling expectations.
- Ability to function effectively in a complex, changing environment.
- Well-organized.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Fluency in French and good knowledge in Dutch & English is required.
- Good understanding of current computer software and databases.

**Certification/education**:

- Master in Pharmacy or Biomedical Sciences (with PhD or not).

**Experience**:

- First working experience in Pharma industry is accepted but 2-3 years of experience in medical affairs would be an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers.
- Understanding of hospital world is an asset.
