Assembly operator (temporary assignment)- Operators - Leuven | Just now- As an assembly operator you will be responsible for the making and testing of our prototypes that are needed for subsequent experimental characterization by engineers and scientists. You will prepare small batches of samples according to pre-defined instruction procedures and inspect and test the samples thereafter before hand-over for further experimental work.- The assignment- Assemble and build integrated and miniaturized electronic devices according to instruction procedure.
- Perform (optical-electrical) inspection and pre-defined tests on the built devices.
- Work with scientists and engineers to implement their design proposals into a concrete solution.
- Monitor incoming list of requests, manage the stock of components, follow up deadlines for the delivery of devices for further experiments.
Required knowledge and skills
- You have a technical degree in electronics, mechanics, chemistry or other equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience in precise hands-on manufacturing and assembly operations.
- You are familiar with and keen on working in a lab environment.
- Experience with CNC milling, 3D printing, laser cutting or other manufacturing equipment is a plus.
- You have the ability and interest to learn and master new techniques.
- You can work independently, in a structured way and are very punctual.
- You are a team player.
- You are fluent in English and have good communication skills.

- Due to the nature of work, working remotely is not possible.
