Intern Sustainability

Health and sustainability are no longer separate conversations but deeply intertwined. MedTech Europe, the European trade association of medical technology industries is currently recruiting an Intern to join its dynamic Sustainability and Environment team. The internship offers the unique opportunity to gather hands-on experience with the EU’s sustainability agenda and the functioning of the main European trade association representing the views of the medical technology industry in Brussels at the crossroads of the green and digital transitions.

**Key responsibilities and activities**:

- **Monitor developments of EU sustainability and environmental policies**affecting the medical technology sector, as well as upcoming meetings of the EU institutions (e.g., EU and other media websites, case law)
- **Prepare summaries of policy documents, study reports or**key regulations of relevance**, as well as briefings, factsheets, meeting minutes for internal use, such as the Circular Economy, EU waste and product regulations, clean energy or climate and sustainability policy initiatives.
- **Support the day-to-day activities**of the sustainability team**(organising, preparing and following up on meetings, updating members’ areas - extranet, drafting newsletter contents, etc.)
- **Assist in analysing EU sustainability and environmental policy developments**
- **Support the team in developing MedTech Europe policy communications**, such as responses to public consultations, own initiative policy and position papers, presentations, briefings or factsheets etc.

**Required qualifications**:

- Holds a university degree in Healthcare Economics, Environmental Sciences, European Studies, Law or Political Science, with knowledge of the EU policy framework
- Has a general understanding of the functioning of the EU Institutions and strong interest in sustainability
- Is fluent in both written and spoken English; any other EU language is an asset
- Digital savviness and excellent command of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
- Eligible to work as a trainee in Belgium.
