**Role purpose**
To sustain its growth, A&O Shearman LLP Belgium is currently looking for an **Associate for our Digital, Data, IP & Technology practice**, to be located in **Antwerp or Brussels**.

A&O Shearman’s Belgian DDIT practice consists of 9 specialist lawyers based in our Antwerp and Brussels offices. This team supports leading local and international businesses in relation to intellectual property, technology and data law, with a particular focus on the life science and technology sectors. The team assists clients with the full range of legal services in these areas - including assistance on major IP and life science litigations (including trademark and patent litigation), advisory work (including in relation to AI and data) and transactions (including strategic outsourcing and digital transformation transactions).

**Who we are looking for**
- You obtained a **Belgian Master in Law** with outstanding academic results;
- You have** 3-6 years of experience** in a reputable firm with a special focus on IP, tech and/or data - and preferably a focus on the life science and/or technology sectors;
- You enjoy being at the forefront of the legal industry - advising on new areas and strategic client matters;
- You have an **excellent command of English as well as French and/or Dutch** (written and spoken);
- You are a team player with excellent legal capabilities, you have an entrepreneurial spirit and good communication skills.
