The Associate Scientist plays a key role in the development and optimization of vaccine formulations, ensuring stability, efficacy, and safety. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to life-saving vaccine development in a collaborative and dynamic environment

**In this role YOU will**:

- Assist in the design and development of vaccine formulations, including the selection of appropriate excipients, adjuvants, and delivery systems.
- Utilize various analytical techniques (e.g., SDS-PAGE, Nano DSF, HPLC, particle size analysis) to characterize vaccine formulations and assess their quality.
- Plan and execute experiments to evaluate the stability and efficacy of preclinical formulations for in vivo studies. Analyze and interpret data to inform concurrent project teams.
- Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, prepare technical reports, and present the data to colleagues and other teams.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues related to formulation development and provide innovative solutions to overcome technical challenges.
- Participate in the organization and maintenance of the laboratory, including inventory management, equipment calibration, and ensuring that lab supplies are adequately stocked.
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety within the laboratory. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, and participate in safety training sessions.

**Basic Qualifications & Skills**:

- Education: Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience in formulation development, preferably in the biopharmaceutical or vaccine industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in analytical techniques such as HPLC and particle size analysis.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present data and findings clearly and concisely.
- Team Player: Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in both English and French is required for effective communication within the team and with external collaborators.

**Preferred Qualification & Skills**
- Familiarity with immunological concepts and assays, including an understanding of how vaccine formulations impact immune system responses.
- Previous experience working in cross-functional teams involving immunologists, demonstrating an ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with experts from different scientific backgrounds.
- Experience in drug delivery systems, formulation platforms, drug product manufacturing technologies is highly recommended.
- Sound scientific methodology and thinking
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
