Vlerick is a school, but we run it as a company, aligned with the high standards we foster in our different programmes. We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven **business developer eager to enlarge the School’s impact**.
**The job**
- Develop a comprehensive business development plan and B2B sales strategy to tap into the market opportunity for research for business, networking, and customised executive education in Digital Transformation and Digitalisation.
- Identify new leads, create a pipeline of prospects, organise sales visits, negotiate and conclude large long-term partnerships as well as innovative relationships, while overseeing consistent pricing and creating value for all parties.
- Execute the business development plan and sales strategy, with the support of colleagues in the Business Units (Open and Customised Executive Education, Advancement), to upsell to existing customers and develop new markets for existing and new programmes, with a focus on B2B sales
- Develop long-term collaborations with companies and strengthen existing relationships with corporate partners. Help the school’s ecosystem in Digital Transformation and Digitalisation grow and develop.
- Build a B2B network of existing and new companies in different phases of the digital transformation process, in particular of companies that want to move towards the implementation of digital initiatives, as we believe this is where we can make a difference through research and education, going beyond inspiration.
- Gain access to relevant networks focusing on digital innovationand represent Vlerick Business School in those networks.
- Act as an interface between the School and the corporate world, feeding back how Vlerick Business School can add value in Digital Transformation and Digitalisation, whether in research for business, executive education, recruitment, or other areas.
- Spot trends in Digital Transformation and Digitalisation in order to keep our offer relevant for the future.

- Can develop strategic, proactive relationships with potential corporate partners.
- Have strong sales capabilities and extensive experience with relationship management.
- Have developed perseverance and commercial awareness. You are a true hunter.
- Are driven, goal-oriented and focused on achieving high targets.
- Have developed an extensive and relevant network providing you with access at the executive board level.
- Combine a robust sales-driven approach with being a team player willing to share information and open doors for your colleagues.
- Have a master’s degree and minimum five years of relevant business experience.
- Understand complex B2B sales and can navigate decision-making units.
- Have strong interpersonal skills capable of building and maintaining relationships.
- Understand the importance of research and can help strengthen the bridge between the academic and the business world.
- Have a strong affinity with topics around digital transformation and digitalisation.
- Are a strong communicator in English.
- Will be based on our campus in Ghent, Brussels, or Leuven in combination with your home office.
