**About the job offer**

EFA is seeking to hire a Finance and Accounting Officer for its office in Brussels.

This is a full-time position for five (5) working days (38 hours) per week.

The duties of the EFA Finance and Accounting Officer include using specific IT tools (such as the integrated system of accounts) to help with the implementation of accounting and financial systems, keeping financial and/or budget accounts, designing, drawing up and implementing Financial Regulation procedures, drawing up budget estimates and annual reports / accounts, presenting financial statements, planning and managing public procurement procedures, carrying out financial and operational management of contracts or subsidies, participating in cash management and/or bank reconciliation, monitoring financial and budget procedures and supervising accounting methods and the financial management of revenue, monitoring monthly the transactions in workflow for legal commitments, budgetary commitments, invoices, payments and recovery orders, producing various reports, providing assistance and support in the preparation of the audit files for external auditors in connection to the annual accounts, providing assistance in the preparation of the audit files for the Internal Audit Service and the European Court of Auditors.
- Have a level of Business school or bachelor’s degree and at least three (3) years full-time of appropriate professional experience.

**Essential Criteria**
- Suitability to perform the above-described tasks.
- Excellent knowledge and proven professional experience in the EU accounting environment and preparing annual accounts.
- Very good knowledge of the EU Financial Regulation and EC accounting rules and instructions.
- Very good command of written and spoken English and good command of at least one of the 5 other official languages of EFA (French, Dutch, German, Italian and Spanish).

**Advantageous Criteria**
- Proven professional experience of ABAC.
- Studies in the field related to the job profile (economics, finance, accounting, law, etc).
- Knowledge of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).
