**Job summary**

We are seeking a highly motivated **(Senior) Technician** to join our **Discovery** site located in **Beerse**. The (Senior) Technician will support the development, optimization, validation and execution of various M. tuberculosis microbiology and biochemical assays to assess compound efficacy. He/she will use a variety of techniques (cell and bacterial culture, bacterial CRISPRi libraries, bacterial extracellular flux analysis, etc.), help to develop and conduct in vivo assays/models with Mycobacterium tuberculosis under supervision of the project leader. He/she will analyse the data from all executed assays with a critical mindset, document experimental work in electronic lab book system to departmental standards, prepare and present experimental results to all stakeholders of the project in a clear and confident manner.

The following are minimum requirements related to the **(Senior) Technician** position**:

- B. Sc. or M.Sc. with minimum 2 and up to 5 years of working experience in a relevant environment.
- Experience in a Pharma or CRO environment preferred.
- Executing cellular and biochemical assays and ability to troubleshoot experiments.
- _In vivo_ experience and appropriate certifications to work with animal models.
- Experience in molecular biology techniques (DNA/RNA isolation, RT-qPCR, whole genome sequencing or RNAseq e.g.) is preferred.
- Hands-on experience in bacterial culturing is a plus.
- Experience in working in a Biosafety Level 3 laboratory is a plus.
- Ability to establish an understanding of the relevance of the data being generated on the project.
- Ability to multitask and work to tight deadlines.
- Flexible mindset and ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities.
- Excellent communication and networking skills as well as a high level of self-motivation.
