**Duties**:

- Provides technician support by performing a wide variety of direct services to the public:

- Registers patrons, charges/discharges materials, processes over-dues and reserves, assists with interlibrary loans and reserves, shelves library materials, prepares displays, programs activities, answers basic reference questions, and assists customers in locating materials;
- Provides technical services support in a variety of functions: basic/copy cataloging, ordering/receiving/processing and de-acquisitioning of library materials.
- Assists in maintaining accountability records and in performing shelf inventories.
- Performs simple maintenance on the library's automated systems.

**Conditions of Employment**:

- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A probation period of one year may be required.
- Possesses satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13, to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- Successfully complete a health screening. Immunizations required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility.
- Incumbent may perform physical exertion such as long periods of standing, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, pushing of loaded trucks; and recurring lifting of heavy items such as boxes of books or journals.

**Qualifications**:

- One (1) year of specialized experience performing the following duties:

- Follow basic and well-established library procedures.
- Perform duties related to circulation, acquisition, disposal of library materials.
- Collection, maintenance and preservation of books.

Or
- Two (2) years of education above high school level.
- Or
- A combination work experience and education that is equivalent to at least six (6) months of specialized experience performing the duties listed above and at least one (1) year of education above high school.

**Pay-Band Allowances and Differentials**
- Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. **_If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay._** When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
- Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.

**PCS Costs**
- Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.

**Incentives and Bonuses**
- Incentives will not be paid.

**Foreign Overseas Allowances**
- Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) will not be paid for this position.
