Accounting Specialist (Accountant / Boekhouder) — Brussels Airport Area / Kampenhout | Hybrid (2 days remote)

Salary:
€65,000-€80,000 + benefits (including 13th month) An international manufacturing business is hiring an Accounting Specialist to run local Belgian finance operations, working closely with English-speaking finance colleagues in the UK and US. This is a broad, hands-on role — full responsibility for day-to-day accounting in Belgium, with real autonomy rather than a narrow slice of a larger team.

Key responsibilities
:
- Processing accounting transactions and maintaining accurate records
- Month-end reconciliations and journal entries
- Customer invoicing and AR queries
- Supplier invoice processing and VAT coding
- Belgian VAT filings and compliance
- Supporting internal and external audits
- Payroll administration support where required
- Working directly with UK and US finance teams on reporting
- Identifying process and controls improvements What we're looking for:
- 3-6 years in accounting, bookkeeping or finance operations
- Formal accounting qualification preferred
- ERP system experience
- Strong Excel and data skills
- Solid knowledge of Belgian accounting principles and VAT
- Fluent Dutch and English Package:
- €65,000-€80,000 base (incl. 13th month), depending on experience
- Hybrid: 2 days remote, 3 office-based
