Trade Compliance Officer

This role is an exciting opportunity if you want to play a critical role in building the Trade Compliance programme for the Power Technique Business Area and in supporting the enhancement of our trade compliance activities across the globe.

As PTBA Trade Compliance Officer you will report to the PTBA Trade Compliance Lead.

**Mission**:

- Establish tools and integrated system solutions to automate the identification and management of trade compliance risks within the Power Technique Business Area
- Implement the Group’s trade compliance policies and procedures within the Power Technique Business Area
- Make sure PTBA trade activities are compliant with import/export, customs and trade sanctions regulations in the countries where we operate.

**Main responsibilities**:

- Assist on the implementation of the SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) solution and represent the Power Technique Business Area in the GTS project team: contribute to user acceptance testing, identify system enhancements, follow up on resolution of issues, coordinate with business stakeholders and change management.
- Provide advisory support on import/export controls requirements (sanctioned party screening, dual-use, embargo countries, licenses) to business stakeholders
- Conduct enhanced due diligence where appropriate, including independent research using public sources and analysis of supporting documentation
- Assist in the development and implementation of the company’s policies relating to import/export control
- Lead or collaborate on initiatives contributing to the continuous improvement of the process and/or systems to comply with import/export regulations
- Provide training and drive change management on global trade compliance through education of key stakeholders within PTBA

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree or similar in a relevant field (International Business and Trade, Logistics, etc.).
- Understanding of supply chain/logistics processes and international trade systems and associated software (e.g. SAP, GTS, Descartes, Dow Jones, Kharon) is seen as an advantage.
- In case you do not have above experience, you must show interest in the field of trade compliance and be willing to learn to acquire the necessary background in compliance.
- You have an eye for detail and are customer-focused
- You are able to efficiently bring projects to completion.
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills (English is a must).

**Country and city description**:
The position is advertised in Antwerp, Belgium, being part of the BA Trade Compliance Team. Location can be discussed but frequent presence in Antwerp will be required.
