Job Description
The Business Development Manager (BDM) Automotive for Avery Dennison Performance Tapes is responsible to enter new customers or new customer segments for defined strategic fields. Initiating and developing new contacts and maintaining existing contacts, starting and implementing first spec-in projects at high potential customers.
- Visiting customer’s design and R&D centers, Headquarters or other Decision-Making-Units and establishes relationships (OEM/OES).
- Responsible to successfully establish first spec-in projects in a strategic area (e.g. Electrical Vehicles Batteries, e-mobility and electrification solutions) with new business opportunities and prepares for a regional or global roll-out.
- Drives key projects in close teamwork with the Market Segment Manager automotive, local KAM’s and global direct manufactures. This includes steering projects, initial pricing and understanding customer needs incl. decision lines and the product development process.

Qualifications
- A minimum of 3-5 years automotive experience in leading a technically engineered B2B product line in business development roles as described in the job profile
- A relevant technical/commercial degree
- A “Drive” and persistence to build support and excitement among an informal, cross-functional team in a matrixed organization.
- Good analytical, conceptual and communication skills.
- Project leadership, Product Lifecycle Mgt., Spec ’In experience and critical thinking to constantly improve status quo
- Flexibility to travel on a needs basis (ca. 50% at customers)
- Fluency in English. German preferred
- Location: home office based with 50% customer facetime and Performance Tapes Turnhout on-site meetings
