Head of Architecture (Enterprise IT)
Location:
Belgium (Hybrid) Overview You will manage a team of architects and technical specialists while working closely with business and IT stakeholders to align technology strategy with organisational priorities. The role also plays a key part in fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the technology function.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Architecture Leadership
- Analyse and map current and future business capabilities to supporting IT solutions
- Develop and maintain enterprise architecture roadmaps (3-5 year horizon)
- Ensure alignment between architecture strategy and organisational priorities Technology Risk Management, Governance & Solution Selection
- Define architecture standards, development guidelines, and technology stack principles
- Establish quality standards including automated testing expectations and code governance
- Ensure technology risks are appropriately identified, controlled, and documented
- Support technology vendor and platform selection aligned with enterprise architecture strategy Development & Platform Alignment
- Support engineering teams working with technologies including:
- .
NET
- Angular
- Node.js
- Low-code platforms
- Core enterprise platforms
- Promote knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and cross-team collaboration Demand Screening & IT Advisory
- Participate in early-stage demand intake and solution shaping
- Provide architectural guidance on solution fit and technology risk posture
- Enable responsible experimentation and low-risk automation initiatives Systems Integration Management
- Lead architecture for integration services and API-driven solutions
- Ensure interoperability, scalability, robustness, and security across platforms Operational Excellence & Cloud / FinOps Advisory
- Guide cloud architecture strategy and optimisation practices
- Support tooling decisions and licensing optimisation
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control activities Enablement Frameworks & Innovation Support
- Support selection and integration of emerging technologies
- Contribute to development of scalable AI architecture frameworks
- Ensure solutions align with long-term enterprise architecture direction Qualifications
- Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Architecture or governance certifications such as TOGAF, COBIT, PMP, or CISSP preferred
- 10+ years of experience in senior IT leadership roles
- Strong background in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, and technology governance
- Familiarity with software quality and security tooling such as SAST, DAST, or equivalent platforms
- Proven people leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop technical teams
- Fluent English required; French is a strong advantage Work
