**Your role**:
The EU policy environment has a lot of influence on the roll-out of fast charging infrastructure across Europe. As Public Affairs Manager EU Affairs, you help to shape the EU policy system to ensure that the launching of fast charging infrastructure can accelerate and operate in an optimal environment. Out of this context you will steer and inspire an international and mission-driven public affairs team that brings positive change to Europe’s policy environment to the benefit of the transition to electric mobility. The EU is developing relevant policies on different fronts simultaneously, example topics include regulation on payment methods and access to vehicle data, and is creating ambitious targets for the deployment of charging infrastructure.

At the same time Fastned’s business is also growing and developing rapidly. This means that you will need to be able to adapt quickly, show entrepreneurship and leadership to help shape the agenda. You make sure Fastned's positions are heard in Brussels and vice versa inspire and support team members in finding their way to make our positions heard locally. You will be able to align and strategize jointly with your colleagues and help translate what policy developments mean for our business. We’re looking for an experienced person who can lead our company’s public affairs efforts, and develop and integrate Fastned’s public affairs agenda and strategy. Someone who can effectively address topics in line with Fastned’s mission in ‘Charge Up Europe’, other associations, and with relevant departments in the EU.

**What does success look like?**:

- You effectively influence the EU policy making process to create the right conditions to accelerate the roll-out of fast charging infrastructure.
- You develop a strategy in line with Fastned’s priorities, and are tuned in with the right internal teams, external organisations and individuals.
- You position Fastned as a thought leader in the EU policy environment on topics most important to Fastned’s mission and goals.
- You are able to contribute to the overall growth of Fastned’s business across Europe.
- You have a clear overview of the different policy processes under development in the EU and you represent Fastned in the relevant working groups and policy development processes.
- You are a team player and as part of the European public affairs team willing to help out in other areas where needed and relevant.

**Job requirements**:
You are an entrepreneurial, strategic and self-starting person, highly motivated to accelerate the energy transition and support Fastned’s mission. You bring along a strong network among EU policy stakeholders and you have a solid understanding of the EU policy environment. You have outstanding written and oral communication skills, and the ability to speak with gravitas at the highest levels, such as Commissioners. Next to that you tick the following boxes:

- 10+ years of experience within Public Affairs in relevant companies, industry associations, consumer groups, standards organisations and/or governments;
- Masters degree in a relevant field;
- Ambition, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills;
- Interest in technical and commercial aspects of the business;
- You are fluent in English, other European languages are considered an advantage;
- You are an inspiring leader that likes coaching team members to deliver success based on ownership and independence
