**YOUR TASKS**
- At least 70% of your assignment will be spent on academic research in the field of advanced data
- analytic approaches (machine learning) of complex data with the goal of generating applicable information (in sports preferably)
- You will assist in teaching activities at the Master level
- You will supervise Master students in their exercises, internship and Master’s dissertation
- You contribute to ad-hoc departmental duties

**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**
- You hold a doctoral degree in Data-analysis, Statistics, Psychology, Sports Science, or related field. The degree requirements need to be fulfilled at the start of your appointment
- For diplomas awarded outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence (NARIC) must be submitted.
- You have extensive experience with advanced data-analysis of large and complex datasets
- You are proficient in at least one data-analytical programming language (like R or Python)
- Knowledge of advanced statistical analyses like (causal) machine learning is an asset
- You have strong analytical, problem solving and organisational skills
- You have profound and demonstratable interest in machine learning and sports science
- You are highly proficient in English (minimum C1-level)
- You have strong time-management and organizational skills. You can keep track of your support activities across multiple projects simultaneously.
- You are a team player and you are happy playing a supportive role in the projects that you contribute to.
- You have relevant scientific publications in (inter)national peer-reviewed academic journals that are widely disseminated

**WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU**
- We offer you a temporary appointment for a period of 3 years. The appointment cannot be renewed
- Even if you have already been appointed earlier (whether or not at another university and whether or not in the same field of discipline) in a first term of up to 3 years, you can apply. The second appointment does not have to be immediately connected to a first term
- Your appointment will start on 1 October 2025 at the earliest
