Freelance Quality Control & Quality Assurance ConsultantPharmaceutical & Food ManufacturingLocation: Belgium (On-site / Hybrid)Contract: 6–12 months (extension possible)Engagement: Freelance / Contract onlySector: Pharmaceutical and/or Food ManufacturingKey skills: QC, QA, GMP, GDP, HACCP, Batch Review, Deviations, CAPA, Audits, Manufacturing Quality, DocumentationThe roleWe are currently supporting multiple regulated manufacturing organisations in Belgium across the pharmaceutical and food sectors, who are looking to engage experienced freelance Quality Control and Quality Assurance consultants to support ongoing and upcoming quality-critical projects.These are active contract opportunities, intended for freelance professionals only, supporting GMP- and HACCP-regulated environments where quality, compliance, and autonomy are essential.Depending on the assignment, the role can be on-site or hybrid, with a degree of flexibility based on project needs and operational requirements.Responsibilities(Scope may vary slightly depending on sector and project)Quality Control (QC)Performing QC activities within regulated manufacturing environments (GMP / food safety standards)Batch record review and release supportManaging deviations, investigations, OOS/OOTSupporting inspections, audits, and audit readinessEnsuring compliance with regulatory, food safety, and internal quality standardsQuality Assurance (QA)QA oversight of manufacturing and/or laboratory activitiesReview and approval of quality documentation, SOPs, and change controlsManaging CAPAs, risk assessments, and quality eventsSupporting internal, customer, and regulatory auditsActing as a quality point of contact for cross-functional teamsProfile requiredProven experience in Quality Control and/or Quality Assurance within the pharmaceutical and/or food industryStrong working knowledge of GMP and/or HACCP / food safety standardsDemonstrated ability to operate independently in a project-based environmentExperience working on contract or project-driven assignmentsFluent in English (spoken and written)French and/or Dutch is an advantage, not mandatoryFreelance status is mandatory (self-employed or via consultancy)Very important noteOnly candidates with prior, demonstrable freelancing / contracting experience will be considered for this position.This role requires consultants who are already comfortable working autonomously, integrating quickly into client environments, and delivering value without onboarding or supervision typical of permanent roles.What's on offerFreelance contracts only (no payroll, no permanent option)Initial 6–12 month assignment with potential extensionCompetitive daily rate, dependent on experience and project scopeOpportunity to work on high-impact, regulated projects across pharma and food manufacturing in BelgiumSupport from a specialist life sciences recruitment consultant who understands freelance quality rolesInterested?If you are a freelance QC or QA professional available for contract work in Belgium, please apply with:Your CVYour availabilityYour current freelance status and daily rate expectationsWe aim to respond as quickly as possible.
