As an AI/Data Scientist Team Lead, your mission would include:Technical LeadershipLeading the technical aspects of data science projects, from conception to deployment.Designing and implementing scalable data science solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructures.Developing and optimizing machine learning models to drive actionable insights and automation.Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including data engineers and business stakeholders, to align technical solutions with strategic goals.Taking ownership of projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables in an agile environment.Engaging in proof-of-concept (PoC) projects and scaling them into production-ready solutions.Working in cloud-based environments and following MLOps best practices.Communicating insights and technical solutions effectively to diverse audiences.People Leadership & ManagementManaging and developing a team of data scientists, fostering both technical excellence and personal growth.Acting as a coach and mentor: guiding team members in problem-solving, career development, and project ownership.Leading performance reviews, setting individual objectives, and providing constructive feedback.Supporting recruitment and onboarding of new team members, ensuring strong integration into the team culture.Creating an inclusive, collaborative, and motivating environment where people thrive and contribute at their best.Balancing workload allocation across projects, ensuring sustainable team capacity and delivery quality.Serving as the main point of escalation within the data science team and ensuring alignment with business priorities.You're a step closer to joining our team if you bring:Background:Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, or a related technical field.5+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI-driven projects.Previous experience leading or mentoring a small team of data scientists (formal or informal).Experience in diverse industries and solutions, demonstrating adaptability and problem-solving skills is considered as a plus.Technical Skills:Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.Expertise in machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn).Hands-on experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms (AWS preferred; Azure is a plus).Experience deploying ML models and following MLOps best practices.Understanding of data engineering principles to support scalable AI solutions.Ability to design and implement proof-of-concept (PoC) projects and scale them into production.Soft Skills:Empowering Leader: You know how to inspire and grow a team, balancing guidance with autonomy.Coaching Mindset: You take pride in helping others develop their skills and careers.Organised & Decisive: You manage priorities and make informed decisions under pressure.Inclusive & Collaborative: You build a culture where diverse perspectives are valued.Trusted Partner: You engage confidently with stakeholders and align your team's work with business goals.Accountable: You ensure both project outcomes and team well-being are delivered.Practical Info:Languages: English and French or DutchStart Date: ASAPWe know that finding the right job isn't just about the role—it's about what's in it for you, too.
