About the RoleOur client in Brussels is seeking a driven Finance Controller to join their team on a 9-month freelance assignment. This position is a blend of robust financial control with strategic business partnering, ensuring accurate financial management, delivering valuable performance insights, and supporting leadership in key decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee monthly and quarterly closing processes, ensuring accuracy and alignmentwith group policiesProvide clear, data-driven financial analysis to support commercial and operational decision-makingDesign and maintain robust internal control frameworks to safeguard compliance and minimize riskContribute to the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plansPartner with department heads to deliver actionable financial insights and strategic recommendationsEnsure full compliance with Belgian accounting, tax, and statutory regulationsLead initiatives to enhance financial processes, reporting accuracy, and system effectivenessCoordinate with auditors, external advisors, and group finance teams during audits and reviewsRequirementsSolid experience as a Finance Controller, Business Controller, or Senior AccountantDeep understanding of IFRS and Belgian GAAP, with a strong track record in financial reportingPractical experience with major ERP systems (such as SAP, Dynamics 365, or Oracle)Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlinesAdvanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similarStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and culturesFluent in English and Dutch
