What you'll doAs a Senior Java Developer, you will take full ownership of delivering high-quality software solutions while mentoring the team and guiding technical direction. Your responsibilities will include:Analysing system integrations and designing robust technical solutions.Leading implementation of complex user stories and technical tasks with high quality and maintainability.Coaching and supporting colleagues, helping them overcome technical challenges through peer programming, guidance, and reviews.Defining and maintaining test strategies, supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.Driving technical decisions and promoting best practices for coding, architecture, and collaboration.Ensuring non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, UX) are integrated into designs.Collaborating with infrastructure teams to deploy solutions efficiently and reliably.Documenting architecture, development standards, and solutions clearly for team use and future reference.Taking ownership of major features / epics and coordinating across multiple teams to ensure alignment. What we're looking forWe're searching for someone who checks most of these boxes Technical skillsExtensive experience as a Java Developer at senior level.Strong knowledge of Java, Quarkus, and containerised environments (Docker/Podman).Solid SQL and database experience.Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, pipeline automation).Test automation experience, preferably with Gherkin frameworks.Experience with OpenShift, ArgoCD, and Agile/Scrum development practices.Familiarity with monitoring, observability, or automation tools is a plus (Terraform, Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus, OpenSearch/Elastic, OutSystems, jMeter, Atlassian suite, UI-Path).Soft skillsFluent in French or Dutch, with good understanding of the other national language.Professional command of English.Strong mentorship and leadership abilities — able to guide technical decisions and inspire the team.Excellent communication skills for cross-team alignment and stakeholder collaboration.Proactive, curious, and open-minded with a continuous improvement mindset.Comfortable taking ownership of complex problems and driving technical excellence.
