Ideally, you have worked closely with design engineers in a technically-driven organization, and you enjoy combining practical lab execution with technical problem-solving.What you'll do• Set-up a brand-new R&D laboratory together with the engineering teams• Use your hands-on skills to assemble and repair R&D prototypes and pilot builds• Advise the engineering teams on the assembly, repairability and serviceability process• Organize and maintain the lab tidy and in order• Ensure proper ESD handling and best practices across all lab activitiesLocation: Onsite in Brussels, BelgiumRequirements• Technical high-school diploma, bachelor degree, or equivalent• Demonstrable experience in a similar role in a technical organization• Excellent hands-on abilities in the field of electronics, cabling, mechanical assembly• Experience with soldering, assembling and repairing electronic boards• Knowledge and attention of ESD issues and familiarity with common lab tools (DMM, etc.)• Proficient with soldering and rework of PCBAs with fine pitch components (QFN, BGA)• Familiar with crimping and cabling• Knowledge of 3D printing and ability to design simple components to help your job• Experience with organizing and maintaining an R&D laboratory• You are a self-starter, able to work in a high-ambiguity environment and willing to take up new challenges• Good written and spoken English, French or Dutch is a plusPreferred Qualifications• Ideally, proficient in one or more of the following: CNC or lathe CAM operation, operation of test jigs• Experience providing design teams with feedback on their products in terms of ease of assembly• You have experience and are passionate about piloting drones or RC planesWhat we offerWe are building a core team of hard-working people.
