Medior Java Engineer – (Belgium | Hybrid)We are looking for a Medior Java Engineer to strengthen Agile engineering teams working on high-impact financial platforms. You will help build secure, scalable backend systems that support critical digital banking and financial services used by thousands of end users daily.This role is ideal for developers who already have solid Java experience and want to grow further in complex enterprise environments, modern architectures, and financial technology.Your RoleAs a Medior Java Engineer, you will:Design, develop and maintain backend services using Java & Spring BootBuild and integrate secure, scalable microservicesWork with APIs, messaging systems and databases in a distributed environmentContribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and code qualityCollaborate closely with Product Owners, architects and fellow engineersActively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremoniesSupport production stability, performance and reliabilityContinuously improve solutions with a strong focus on security and maintainabilityYour Skills & Experience3–6 years of experience as a Java or backend developerStrong hands-on experience with:Java (11+ or 17+)Spring & Spring BootREST APIs & microservicesGood knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL)Experience with Git, Maven/GradleBasic understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practicesCloud exposure (Azure, AWS or GCP) is a plusInterest in financial systems, payments, or trading platforms is a strong assetStrong analytical thinking and communication skillsNice to HaveExperience with:Event-driven systems (Kafka, MQ)Docker & KubernetesSecurity concepts (OAuth, IAM, encryption)Prior experience in:Banking, insurance, fintech or capital marketsLanguagesFluent EnglishDutch or French is a strong advantageWhat's in It for YouPermanent contract in a high-impact financial environmentWork on large-scale, business-critical platformsHybrid working modelCompetitive salary packageCompany car or mobility budgetTraining budget & technical certificationsCareer growth toward Senior Engineer or ArchitectWork in experienced cross-functional engineering teamsInterested?If you're a Medior Java Engineer looking to take the next step in enterprise-level financial systems, we'd love to hear from you.Send your CV or reach out for a confidential conversation.
