Automation Engineer – Antwerp Our client in Antwerp is expanding their automation capabilities and is looking for a skilled Automation Engineer who thrives on solving complex production challenges. About the OpportunityYou'll join a forward‐thinking production environment where automation is central to daily operations. Your mission is to troubleshoot issues, enhance machine performance, and drive continuous improvement across the plant. This is a hands‐on role for someone who enjoys diving into technical details and turning production lines into efficient, reliable systems. What You'll Be DoingTackling automation‐related production problems to reduce downtime and boost efficiencyProgramming, modifying, and optimising Siemens PLCs using TIA PortalWorking with FANUC robots to refine paths, resolve errors, and improve performanceSupporting upgrades, retrofits, and commissioning of new automated equipmentCollaborating closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teamsIdentifying bottlenecks and proposing smart, data‐driven improvementsEnsuring all automation work meets safety, quality, and operational standardsDocumenting changes and technical insights clearly and consistentlyWhat You BringStrong experience with Siemens PLCsSolid proficiency in TIA PortalHands‐on experience with FANUC robotsA deep understanding of industrial automation and machine controlStrong analytical and troubleshooting skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast‐paced production environmentClear communication skills and a collaborative mindset Nice to HaveExperience with SCADA or HMI systemsKnowledge of industrial networks (Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP)Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, OEE)Familiarity with machine safety standards or safety PLCs
