Freelance A-Z Accountant PositionThe project will involve collaborating with multiple departments to streamline financial operations, optimize processes, and maintain a high standard of financial integrity. The Financial Accountant will play a key role in assisting the company with its internal reporting, audit preparation, and overall financial health.Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesGeneral Ledger Management: Oversee and maintain the integrity of the General Ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate, complete, and in compliance with Belgian GAAP and IFRS standards.Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow reports. Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure transparency and accuracy.Cost Accounting: Track and analyze inventory, raw materials, and production costs, ensuring proper cost allocation and accounting for variances. Collaborate with the operations team to align financial reporting with actual production activities.Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage the full accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing, payment processing, and resolution of discrepancies.Tax Compliance: Ensure the company adheres to local tax regulations (VAT, corporate tax, etc.), prepare tax filings, and coordinate with external tax advisors for support on complex matters.Internal Controls & Audits: Assist in the preparation of internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation and financial records are in line with industry standards. Identify areas for process improvements and implement corrective actions where necessary.SAP Utilization: Use SAP for managing financial data, processing transactions, and ensuring that reports and records align with SAP modules related to finance (FI/CO). Be proactive in identifying system improvements and optimizing the use of SAP tools.Ad-hoc Reporting & Analysis: Provide financial analysis and reports for senior management, focusing on trends, risks, and opportunities. Assist with any ad-hoc finance-related projects as required.Requirements for the CandidateExperience:Proven track record as a Financial Accountant, with at least 5+ years of experience, ideally in a multinational environment.Strong A-Z accounting experience, with a focus on financial reporting, cost accounting, and tax compliance.Experience with SAP (FI/CO modules) is essential, including familiarity with SAP reporting tools and financial processes.Experience in managing complex financial operations in a fast-paced, multi-departmental environment.Technologies:Expertise in SAP Financial modules (FI/CO), Microsoft Excel (advanced level), and experience with financial reporting tools.Knowledge of Belgian GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations in Belgium.Soft Skills:High attention to detail and accuracy.Strong communication skills, capable of working across multiple departments and with senior leadership.Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.Proactive mindset with a solution-oriented approach.Bonuses:Experience in the chemical industry or other related manufacturing sectors.Fluency in Dutch and/or French is a plus.Experience working in a multinational or highly regulated environment is beneficial.Project Details: Start Date: ASAPContract Length: 6 MonthsContract Type: FreelanceLocation: GhentIndustry: ChemicalHours Per Week: 40Onsite Policy: 2 Days Per WeekLanguage: English (French or Dutch is a strong bonus)If interested, please send your most up to date CV over to gabriel.toma@vividresourcing.com .
