International Tax Manager

Function

We are looking for an experienced International Tax Manager to act as the central tax coordination and governance lead for Elia Group's international entities. As Elia Group continues to expand its international footprint and strengthen its presence across multiple jurisdictions, the International Tax Manager will play a key role in implementing and embedding new governance processes, ways of working and oversight mechanisms across the international entity landscape.

During this transformation phase, the role will combine hands‐on involvement in the rollout of the target model with ongoing support for international tax activities and stakeholder coordination.

In its target state, the ITM role primarily focuses on governance, coordination, oversight, validation and decision support, while operational execution is largely performed by the Shared Service Centre, local teams or external advisors.

Key Responsibilities

1. International tax governance

  • Act as the main tax coordination point for international entities, holdings and relevant affiliate management stakeholders.
  • Support the implementation of the Group tax strategy across international entities, ensuring consistent application of Group standards and governance principles.
  • Support tax workstreams related to new entities, entity onboarding, restructurings, M&A, system changes and operating model enhancements.
  • Act as a contributor to Group tax planning efforts by coordinating tax input from international entities, assessing cross‐border implications and supporting consistent implementation of Group tax positions across the affiliate landscape.

2. Tax compliance oversight

  • Oversee the tax compliance lifecycle for international entities, including local corporate income tax, withholding tax, VAT and other local tax obligations.
  • Validate the accuracy, completeness and timely preparation of tax filings prepared by SSC, local teams or external advisors.
  • Coordinate data provision, cut‐off alignment and reporting inputs with local controllers, accounting teams, SSC and third‐party providers.

3. Group transfer pricing

Coordinate and oversee the implementation of the Group transfer pricing framework, supported by external advisors and Group Tax specialists

Your Profile

  • Master's degree in Tax, Law, Business economics or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8 to 10+ years of relevant tax experience, ideally gained in a multinational group, Big Four/advisory environment or complex corporate tax function.
  • Strong collaboration and management skills, with the ability to perform in a multi‐jurisdictional environment, taking ownership of cross‐functional initiatives from design through implementation.
  • Strong international tax compliance expertise, including cross‐border tax matters and tax governance requirements in a multinational environment, combined with a sound understanding of transfer pricing implementation and intercompany arrangements.
  • Experience working in ERP‐driven tax environments and contributing to process improvement or digitalisation initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of IAS 12 and tax reporting processes is desirable
  • Fluent professional in English as well as French and/or Dutch.
