This role will support a major annual shutdown at a leading pharmaceutical site. The ideal candidate will be experienced in building and maintaining integrated shutdown schedules, ensuring accurate planning and execution across multiple projects, and coordinating with diverse teams to ensure smooth shutdown and startup phases.Title: Shutdown SchedulerLocation: Flemish Region, BelgiumPositions Available: 1Type: Freelance Contract (6–12 months, extension expected)Onsite Requirement: Full-time, 4–5 days per week (mandatory during shutdown)Start Date: January 2026Your Responsibilities:Build, maintain, and execute an integrated shutdown schedule in MS Project, including WBS/SBS/OBS structuresIntegrate multiple CAPEX project schedules, maintenance plans, and compliance/validation tasks into a single master planTrack daily progress during execution, update KPI dashboards, perform S-curve updates, and conduct critical path reviewsIdentify and resolve clashes, resource conflicts, and interferences, adjusting the schedule based on safety, capacity, and priority constraintsCoordinate with project owners, maintenance, production, quality, and safety teams, and support shutdown meetings and daily reviewsContribute to post-shutdown reporting, lessons learned, and improvements for future shutdownsYour Requirements:Proven experience as a Shutdown Planner, Turnaround Planner, or Project Scheduler in industrial or pharmaceutical environmentsExpert proficiency with MS Project (mandatory) and experience in building WBS, SBS, and OBS structures independentlyStrong ability to manage integrated multi-project schedules, with expertise in critical path and risk-based planningExcellent reporting capabilities, including Excel KPIs, S-curves, daily progress tracking, and variance analysisComfortable working on-site with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, high-pressure shutdown environmentFluency in Dutch preferred, but strong English is requiredThis is an excellent opportunity for a highly structured planning professional to take ownership of the planning process during time-critical industrial shutdowns.
