The consultant will help modernise the reporting backbone, rationalise BW logic, and ensure domain-by-domain transitions aligned with business needs.MissionThe consultant will design, build, validate and document SAP Datasphere models, migrate BW logic, support business domain owners, and ensure high-quality integration between SAP Datasphere and Microsoft Fabric. The person will also support the current SAP BW team during the transition to SAP DataSphere.Additionally, (s)he will analyse the current reports and propose a migration strategy to S4 embedded reporting solutions, SAC, or MS Fabric data products.Key Responsibilities1. SAP Datasphere Modelling & DevelopmentBuild and optimise in SAP Datasphere.Apply SAP modelling best practices.Design performant, maintainable models aligned with SAP source structures.2. Migration of BW LogicAnalyse the SAP BW data modelsRebuild logic in Datasphere using modern principles.Ensure functional equivalence and proper documentation.Help the current SAP BW team with the transition process.3. Integration with Microsoft FabricSupport SAP data exposure into Fabric.Align semantics between Datasphere and Fabric Lakehouse.4. Data Governance, Quality & LineageEnsure proper metadata, naming, and lineage visibility.Perform data quality assessments and highlight structural issues.5. Business Collaboration & WorkshopsParticipate in diagnostic workshops with Business Domain Owners.Translate business KPIs and logic into technical models.Support UAT, testing and validation.6. Delivery & HandoverEnsure models are robust, tested and production-ready.Support cut-over planning and handover to internal teams.DeliverablesDocument Roadmap SAP BW on Hana migration to Modern Data Platform (SAP DataSphere and Microsoft Fabric)Clean, validated Datasphere modelsHarmonised KPI definitions per domainValidated datasets exposed to FabricTesting plans and UAT supportTransition kits per domainKnowledge transfer to internal teamsRequired Skills & ExperienceSAP & Technical Skills:3–5 years SAP Datasphere or SAP DWC experience.SQL proficiencyStrong SAP BW on Hana experience from extraction till reporting (incl. CDS Views)SAP ECC or S/4HANA data structure knowledge.S4 HANA embedded reporting knowledge.General Data Skills:Data warehousing concepts.Exposure to Microsoft cloud analytics (Fabric) is a plus.Understanding of semantic modelling and BI consumption.Soft Skills:Strong analytical skills.Can translate technical concepts into business-friendly language.Team player with excellent communication.Pragmatic and hands-on.Nice-to-Havedbt or modern transformation toolingSAP or Azure Data Governance toolingExposure to AI-readiness concepts
