The COBOL Programmer will be responsible for developing, implementing, testing, maintaining, and optimising applications within the organisation’s central system. The role involves developing new transaction processing functionalities and business management solutions based on functional and technical specifications provided by the analysis team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain applications using COBOL within the central system.
- Analyse functional and technical requirements and translate them into efficient COBOL programs.
- Develop and test new transaction-processing functionalities and management applications.
- Perform impact analysis to assess how new developments or changes affect existing applications and systems.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in existing COBOL applications.
- Continuously improve and optimise existing functionalities to ensure performance, reliability, and stability.
- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing to validate application changes.
- Collaborate with business analysts, functional analysts, testers, and other IT teams to ensure successful implementation.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to application development, modifications, and maintenance.
- Ensure the reliability, integrity, and continuity of the central system.
Required Skill:
Strong experience in COBOL programming, application development, testing, maintenance, and debugging.
Languages
Dutch or French - Professional working Proficiency
