As Application Architect / Technical Leader, you will be pivotal in designing and delivering robust, scalable, and secure applications within the ZEPHYR program. Your leadership will ensure technical excellence, accelerate digital transformation, and set new standards for quality and impact in the public sector.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Architect and evolve application solutions for flagship projects (DOMES V2, Prenatal V1, e-VAX 2.0) supporting child and maternal health services.
• Lead the technical design, ensuring alignment with functional specifications and business objectives.
• Drive the implementation of best practices in software development: clean code, SOLID, DRY, and technical consistency across the stack.
• Collaborate closely with business analysts, testers, project managers, and middleware specialists to deliver high-quality, maintainable solutions.
• Develop and optimize application modules, focusing on performance, memory management, and response times.
• Organize and conduct code reviews, refactoring, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce technical debt.
• Validate development, unit testing, and deployment processes, ensuring robust delivery across multiple environments.
• Coach and mentor development teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, deadlines, and methodological frameworks defined by our client.
• Communicate proactively with stakeholders, providing regular feedback and supporting the evaluation of work packages.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Expertise in Java (Java 8/JEE7, Java 21, Spring Boot, JPA, Spring) and Angular (Angular 21/Material).
• Proven experience with database technologies: DB2 and MySQL (Expert level).
• Hands-on with CI/CD deployment pipelines (Docker, Git/GitLab CI/CD, Apache Maven, Nexus).
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, OpenAPI, and microservices architectures.
• Experience with Flyway for database migrations (Confirmed).
• Unit and integration testing using Junit and Mockito (Expert).
• Familiarity with IndexedDB, Dexie, and Service Worker (Junior level).
• Solid understanding of NgRx for state management in Angular applications.
• Agile/SCRUM project delivery experience (Confirmed).

Language Proficiency

• Fluency in French is mandatory (all project communication and deliverables are in French).

Other Requirements

• Freelance contract for a defined mission: mid-November 2026 to end of 2027 (2 months duration).
• Hybrid work model: minimum 50% onsite presence in Brussels required.
