Job Title: QC Welding & Structural Inspector
We ARE looking for a QC Welding & Structural Inspector to act as a Resident Inspector in Arendonk, Belgium. You will oversee quality inspections and controls related to welding and structural activities, ensuring compliance with project requirements, applicable specifications, standards and norms. The role requires significant experience in shipyard quality inspections, preferably within the offshore industry, as well as a strong technical background in welding and structural disciplines.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Contract type: Freelance / ZZP
Duration: 16 November 2026 – 6 months, with possible extension
We ARE looking for a QC Welding & Structural Inspector to act as a Resident Inspector in Arendonk, Belgium. You will oversee quality inspections and controls related to welding and structural activities, ensuring compliance with project requirements, applicable specifications, standards and norms. The role requires significant experience in shipyard quality inspections, preferably within the offshore industry, as well as a strong technical background in welding and structural disciplines.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Perform quality inspections and controls related to welding and structural activities.
- Inspect welding and structural fabrication activities in accordance with project specifications, approved procedures and applicable standards.
- Verify compliance with approved inspection and test plans (ITPs), procedures and quality requirements.
- Monitor welding and structural activities and ensure adherence to applicable technical specifications and acceptance criteria.
- Identify, document and report defects, deviations and non-conformities.
- Review inspection records, quality documentation, welding documentation and relevant certificates.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and project stakeholders to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate quality records.
- Support the resolution of quality issues and follow up on corrective actions.
- Travel to other project locations as required by the project specifications.
- Mandatory: Relevant and recognized qualification, certification or diploma in welding and/or structural inspection.
- Mandatory: Significant experience in quality inspections and controls within a shipyard/yard environment, preferably in the offshore industry.
- 10–15 years of relevant professional experience for an Expert profile.
- Specialized experience in welding and structural inspection.
- Experience working on EPCI contracts.
- Strong understanding of welding, structural fabrication and quality control requirements.
- Ability to work independently and ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Validity of qualifications and certifications must be verified and provided with the technical and commercial proposal.
- Preference for candidates based in Belgium and located close to the assignment site.
- Mandatory requirement: Relevant welding and structural inspection experience must be clearly demonstrated on the CV.
