- We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to strengthen the Media Infra team.
What can you expect from this assignment?
- You will be working within the Operations department, more specifically in the Media Management team (of which Media Infra is a part), where we build the technological backbone on which media is made and distributed. Our team manages the infrastructure that runs day and night so that newsreels go on air on time, archive material is easily retrieved and media flows move reliably from A to B.
- The Media Infra team is in full evolution into a platform team, a model in which we no longer just respond to questions, but proactively build a solid, secure foundation on which other teams can build independently. This makes other teams within Media Management self-reliant: they build the workflows they need, we make sure the platform they do it on is reliable, secure and well-documented, so teams don't have to come to us for every step, but can count on us as the foundation. You help shape that shift.
What are you doing with us?
- You will participate in an Agile DevOps operation and take responsibility for both operational management and architectural evolution of our media platforms. Your task will mainly consist of unraveling, documenting and future-proofing complex existing systems, with the pursuit of low-complexity solutions being a key priority.
Platform development & analysis
- You will analyse existing systems such as Aspera Orchestrator and IBM Arema, map out their current operation and existing workflows and formulate proposals to offer them as a self-service service for other teams You will think along with us about how we can offer our infrastructure as a platform, test these proposals with the team and roll up your sleeves to make these proposals concrete. Working Infrastructure & automation
- Setting up and maintaining automations for the roll-out of media applications Managing and optimising the infrastructure on which our systems run Proactively monitoring, identifying problems at an early stage and implementing structural solutions Collaboration & knowledge sharing
- You communicate clearly, even on technically complex topics. You don't shy away from a substantive discussion. Working closely with other teams within (and outside) Media Management to understand their needs and translate them into platform services Documenting processes and workflows so that knowledge is secured and shared You dare to critically evaluate existing systems and provide a sounding board for others within the team. You strive to build ingenious systems with low complexity. In addition, you recognize the importance of standardization, documentation and knowledge sharing
What do we expect from you?
- At least 5 years of experience as a Linux System Engineer or in a similar role Experience within the Red Hat Ecosystem (RHEL, Ansible automation platform), Foreman Thorough knowledge of containers and container orchestration (Docker/Podman, Kubernetes/OpenShift) Experience with automation tools such as Ansible Experience with scripting in Python Familiar with Git en CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or Bitbucket) Experience with monitoring (CheckMK, Nagios or similar) Familiarity with Agile working (Scrum or Kanban) You work in a structured way, think analytically and can communicate findings clearly, both technically and to non-technical stakeholders You can quickly familiarize yourself with existing environments and understand complex systems: you map components, integrations, interfaces and dependencies (incl. data flows, control and dependencies between services) and translates this into clear documentation and concrete improvement proposals A big plus
- Experience with or affinity for file transfer and workflow automation systems (Aspera, IBM Orchestrator or similar) Knowledge of MAM/PAM systems You can use AI tools for higher productivity and efficiency gains but in a responsible manner with an eye for security and accuracy Experience in the media tech sector Experience with cloud (AWS preferred) and/or Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) Knowledge of the ELK stack, Grafana Experience with (clustered) storage solutions (such as IBM Spectrum Scale or Dell PowerScale) Familiar with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) Experience with virtualization Experience with RedHat IDM Interested?
