Position Overview

We are seeking a high-caliber 3GPP Delegate with typically 5+ years of hands-on 3GPP standardization experience, or an equivalent demonstrable track record in relevant standards work.

 

Leveraging deep technical mastery in RF, RRM, and 4G/5G/5G-Advanced architectures alongside commercial spectrum insights, champion core contributions, strengthen the company’s credible technical representation and industry engagement on the international stage, and mentor team members across the domain.

 

As part of a dynamic, and geographically distributed team, you will collaborate closely with alongside researchers and developers to push the boundaries of radio access technologies. Strong cross-functional teamwork, innovative problem-solving, and a focus on product excellence are key.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Standardization Leadership & Industry Engagement

Lead and contribute to 3GPP standardization activities as an authorized company delegate. Develop and advocate high-quality technical proposals, build industry consensus, support the progression of relevant Study Items and Work Items, and seek appropriate rapporteur or leadership roles where relevant and in accordance with applicable 3GPP/ETSI procedures.

 

  1. Product & Standards Strategy

Translate relevant standards developments into product requirements and standardization roadmaps, working closely with R&D, product and other internal stakeholders.

 

  1. Spectrum & Market Insights

Monitor publicly available and appropriately obtained spectrum and regulatory developments and assess their implications for technology, product and business strategy, in accordance with competition-law and information-handling requirements.

 

  1. Compliance & Integrity

Conduct standardization activities in accordance with applicable competition law, 3GPP/ETSI IPR requirements, company IP and contribution-approval processes, confidentiality obligations and applicable export-control requirements.

 

Experience

Typically 5+ years of hands-on 3GPP standardization experience, or an equivalent demonstrable track record in relevant standards activities.

 

Location & Travel: Based in Leuven, Belgium, with international travel expected approximately 20-30%. Reasonable accommodations will be considered where applicable.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  1. Industry & Domain Expertise: Extensive background in mobile communications with focus on 3GPP specifications (RF, RRM, demodulation, and performance evaluation).

 

  1. Standardization Track Record: Typically, 5+ years of hands-on 3GPP standardization experience, or an equivalent demonstrable track record in relevant standards work.

 

  1. System Architecture & Design: Deep understanding of 4G/5G/5G-Advanced radio access network architectures and RF system design.

 

  1. Technical Leadership: Proven capability to steer complex technical initiatives, guide working directions, and deliver high-quality technical specifications on schedule.

 

  1. Soft Skills: Exceptional technical communication, cross-cultural collaboration, and strategic negotiation skills, combined with strong product awareness.
