About the Role

RELYzIT Talent is seeking a Junior Front End Developer for a high-impact, freelance mission with our client in Brussels. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the technical evolution of critical applications used by public sector organizations. You’ll be at the forefront of a major Angular migration, ensuring the stability, performance, and future-readiness of essential digital services. Why This Role Matters

Our client’s suite of Java and Angular applications is vital to the daily operations of key public services. With the current Angular version (V.15) reaching end-of-life, your mission is to lead the migration to Angular V.22—safeguarding business continuity, minimizing risk, and enabling future innovation. Your work will directly impact thousands of users and ensure the reliability of systems that matter.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the migration of multiple applications from Angular V.15 to Angular V.22, ensuring technical excellence and minimal disruption.
• Develop and execute comprehensive non-regression tests during the migration process, adapting to changes in each application.
• Document all technical changes with clarity and precision, enabling seamless knowledge transfer and risk management.
• Communicate migration impacts and updates to key users and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
• Collaborate within a hybrid team environment, balancing autonomy with proactive engagement.
• Maintain and enhance code quality, leveraging best practices in test-driven development and CI/CD pipelines.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, sharing insights and solutions with fellow builders.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Java software development
• Hands-on experience in complex, multi-system environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to quickly understand and maintain existing codebases
• Customer and solution-oriented mindset
• Team player with excellent communication skills
• Autonomous, proactive, and quality-focused approach
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Knowledge of the Smals development environment and framework (mandatory)
• Familiarity with the following applications is a plus: BETW, CONAN, DIM30BIS, PERSCONT, PROF, STANDOC, STATEXON, IRON, GTEST, VIEWADF, DALI, PREPMEC, EXON, PCRRR

Other Requirements

• Partial remote work; regular on-site presence in Brussels may be required
• English proficiency required; knowledge of French or Dutch is an asset
• Freelance position with a 4-month project duration
