Civil Engineer

You are part of the Safety Study Service within the Safety, Security and Environment department of the client. Here, you will contribute to the periodic safety reviews of the nuclear installations at client sites, as well as taking on or supervising the resulting improvement actions.

The position comprises the following result areas:

• Developing and contributing to the implementation of safety guidelines with the aim of continuously improving in terms of safety.
• Preparing, supervising, executing, monitoring, and verifying safety studies within the framework of projects, whether or not requested by the government, and safety analyses for new installations or modifications to existing installations, with the aim of delivering safe installations.
• Assuming project management of safety-specific projects (e.g. the ten-year review, stress test, …) with the aim of bringing these projects to a successful conclusion.
• Conducting and/or supervising studies for permit dossiers for new installations with the aim of meeting quality requirements and safety and environmental requirements.
• Performing calculations and/or modeling with the aim of providing support to other services.
• Developing and/or supervising permit dossiers for new installations or decommissioning projects with the aim of meeting quality requirements and safety and environmental requirements.

 Job requirements:  

• Engineering degree
• Several years of experience in a nuclear company or similar experience is a plus;
• You are driven and have a broad interest in all aspects of safety;
• You strive for continuous improvement in your own qualifications and the various result areas;
• You work meticulously and deliver high-quality work;
• You can convey knowledge and technical advice in an understandable and convincing manner and can defend cases with solid substantiation;
• You are proficient in collaboration and communication with various target groups and in a team setting;
• The position requires a good knowledge of technical English and French.
