Location: Brussels, Empereur
Contract: freelance until July 2027 (can be extended)
Working hours: 40h per week (2 days on site)
We ARE Renewables is looking for a Senior Project Manager with strong expertise in the energy sector to contribute to strategic initiatives that will shape the future of the Belgian and European energy landscape.
Responsibilities:
- Act as SPOC (Single Point of Contact) towards external vendors, DSOs, regulators, and other stakeholders;
- Safeguard priorities within external vendors’ implementation roadmaps;
- Drive the delivery of the TSO (Transmission System Operator)/DSO (Distribution System Operator) common tooling roadmap;
- Coordinate complex projects in the energy sector, ensuring alignment between internal and external stakeholders;
- Facilitate executive-level alignment on strategic decisions and project priorities;
- Anticipate and address future energy-system challenges, including congestion management and flexibility;
- Manage project dependencies, risks, priorities, and stakeholder coordination;
- Involve and collaborate with Product Managers where required;
- Participate in business architecture discussions and ensure strategic principles are reflected in proposed solutions;
- Contribute to the creation of a new company, supporting legal, regulatory, and financial workstreams;
- Ensure projects and the new company comply with applicable regulatory, legal, financial, and governance frameworks.
Responsibilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication in Dutch and English with a basic knowledge or French;
- Proven track record in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects in the energy sector;
- Deep understanding of transmission and distribution system operations, regulatory frameworks, and market dynamics;
- Ability to navigate and align diverse stakeholders, including regulators, DSOs, and executive management;
- Strong facilitation skills to drive consensus and alignment at executive level;
- Ability to act as Product Owner for internal implementation tracks;
- Comfortable operating in a fast-changing environment with regulatory, legal, and financial complexities.
