Business Analyst

Position Description:

The role

CGI is looking for a Confirmed Business Analyst / Project Manager to support digital transformation and IT delivery initiatives in the banking, insurance and financial services sector. You will work at the intersection of business, Risk & Compliance and IT, translating regulatory and operational needs into clear, testable solutions and driving them through to delivery.

From project definition and discovery workshops through UAT, release and service transition, you will help stakeholders make informed decisions, keep requirements and delivery traceable, and ensure that each change is delivered on time, on budget and in compliance with financial-sector regulation.

What you will do

- Analyse current business and IT processes, clarify pain points and define target improvements for systems across areas such as payments, cards, KYC/AML, asset management, risk or insurance. Gather, challenge, document and maintain business and functional requirements.

- Define project scope, planning, budget and resourcing. Manage dependencies, risks and issues, and follow up the business case from initiation through to closure.

- Produce process flows, use cases, functional specifications, impact assessments and acceptance criteria, while maintaining traceability from business need to delivered solution and reporting progress to sponsors and governance bodies.

- Ensure that requirements and deliverables comply with applicable financial-sector regulations (e.g. MiFID II, Basel, AML/KYC, GDPR, DORA), data integrity expectations and internal governance. Support audit-readiness documentation.

- Facilitate workshops and interviews with business users, Risk & Compliance, IT teams, vendors and project partners. Manage contractors and vendors (Time & Material and fixed-price contracts) and act as first point of contact for the project sponsor.

- Prepare test scenarios, support User Acceptance Testing and review results. Coordinate release readiness, rollback planning, documentation, knowledge transfer and handover to service and operations teams.

What you bring

- Typically 4 to 8 years in banking, insurance, asset management or other financial services environments, including at least 3 years combining business analysis and/or project management.

- Practical exposure to one or more areas such as Payments, Cards, KYC/AML, Core Banking, Asset Management, Risk & Compliance, Trading/Capital Markets, Insurance Operations or Regulatory Reporting.

- Proven experience gathering and validating requirements, planning projects, tracking budgets and risks, and writing functional specifications and acceptance criteria.

- Ability to understand how process, system or regulatory changes affect users, controls, data and connected teams, and to structure complex topics into workable delivery plans.

- Confident leading analysis and delivery activities independently while partnering effectively with sponsors, Risk & Compliance, architects and IT delivery teams.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

Languages. Dutch and English are mandatory (C1 level or higher). French is a strong plus.

Valuable additional experience

- Exposure to core banking platforms, payment systems, regulatory reporting tools, or Agile/DevOps delivery environments within a regulated financial institution.

Certifications. PRINCE2, PMP, Agile/Scrum PM, BPMN, IIBA ECBA/CCBA/CBAP or ITIL certification is an advantage.
