The Party Chief is responsible for overseeing all inshore survey activities throughout the project lifecycle, including mobilization, execution, as-built, and demobilization phases. The role ensures accurate, high-quality survey data to support cable laying and trenching operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute all project-related survey activities
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and HSE procedures
- Perform QA/QC on survey data and verify it meets project requirements
- Deliver survey data to vessels and company stakeholders according to schedule
- Communicate survey results with the project team
- Prepare GIS data and reports
- Troubleshoot survey equipment and software issues
- Report directly to the Chief Surveyor
Technical Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Party Chief
- Experience in cable shore pull, installation, and dredging operations
- Proficiency with Total Stations, GNSS, Octans, and network systems
- Strong knowledge of hydrographic survey techniques and trenching
- Experience with offshore navigation and positioning software (e.g., BricsCAD, Qinsy, Civil3D, QGIS/ArcGIS Pro, DTPS, NavaQ, Tendo)
- Familiarity with subsea acoustic positioning systems and multibeam surveys
Non-Technical Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Flexibility to work in different locations and adapt to project needs
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field
- Required certifications: Full GWO and Offshore Medical (others TBD)
Language Requirements
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); additional languages are an advantage
