About the Role

RELYzIT Talent is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Specialist (Freelance) to join our client’s pioneering Mon Espace evolution project. This is a 12-month freelance engagement based in Belgium, designed for elite BI professionals who thrive on building impactful, future-ready analytics solutions. You’ll be at the heart of a mission to transform fragmented data into actionable intelligence, empowering decision-makers and shaping digital services for thousands of users.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the integration and consolidation of data from multiple sources (Oracle, Alfresco, MySQL/MariaDB, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Excel, APIs, web analytics, and more) into a unified decision-making database.
• Design, model, and implement a data warehouse structure (conceptual/star model) tailored to business needs and reporting requirements.
• Develop and optimize ETL processes: extract, transform, and load data to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with destination schemas.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to capture and formalize business knowledge, translating it into semantic layers, universes, and actionable reports.
• Utilize BI tools (Power BI, SQL Server Management, SSIS, Azure) to create dynamic dashboards, reports, and KPIs that drive business outcomes.
• Analyze existing reports (Excel, SAP BO) and rationalize concepts to streamline reporting and analytics.
• Document all processes, data models, and integration flows to ensure transparency and maintainability.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions, working meetings, and experimental POC development, embracing a culture of discovery, iteration, and collaboration.
• Support the industrialization and automation of the POC for deployment on cloud or on-premise infrastructure.
• Engage in continuous improvement, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance data quality, reporting efficiency, and user experience.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Confirmed expertise (T2) in Business Intelligence, including data modeling, ETL, and dashboard/report creation.
• Proven experience with databases: Oracle, MySQL/MariaDB, SQL Server, PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on proficiency with BI tools: Power BI, SQL Server Management, SSIS, Azure.
• Ability to capture and formalize business knowledge, implementing it in universes and reports.
• Experience designing and building data warehouses and semantic layers based on business analysis.
• Junior-level (T1) development skills in Python, SAS, and SOAPUI.
• Strong background in data integration, architecture, and automation of data flows.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze, rationalize, and optimize existing reports and data sources.
