Angular Frontend Developer

Mission

As part of the strategic evolution and modernisation of the application base of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, CLIENT is conducting a large-scale project on its Design System (@Client/ng-components). This project combines two structuring axes:

• Technological emancipation from PrimeNG: Replace all runtime components with proprietary components in semantic and native HTML5 coupled with Angular CDK behavior primitives, while ensuring strict digital accessibility (WCAG 2.1 level AA).
• Upgrade to Angular 22: Upgrade the Design System monorepo to Angular 22, make the most of the latest developments in the framework (Zoneless future, advanced responsive signals, compiler optimizations) and ensure a smooth transition for consuming applications.
• The target architecture, development standards, components to be migrated and migration priorities will have been defined beforehand by CLIENT.
• To carry out this project, which is estimated to last between 10 and 15 weeks, CLIENT is looking for three (3) Angular Frontend Developers.
• As an Angular Frontend Developer within this team of 3 consultants, you will work in close synergy with the Team Leader, the Frontend Architect, the UX/UI team (Figma design tokens) and the FW-B application teams. You are directly responsible for component development, Angular 22 upgrades, test coverage, and compliance with accessibility and performance standards.
• The mission concerns the transversal Design System CLIENT (Client-design-system-core) library, used by all the FW-B administrations (Education, Houses of Justice, Culture, Sport, etc.) and integrated into dozens of business applications serving thousands of users.
• As a consultant, you are subject to the same working conditions as our internal staff, i.e. a hybrid mode combining face-to-face and teleworking, with a mandatory minimum of 50% presence in our offices.
• The mission is in French only.

Activities

Design

• Participate in the updating of technical and software architecture documentation.
• Develop the design and technical analysis based on the functional file, the migration specifications (abandonment of PrimeNG, transition to Angular 22) and UI mock-ups.
• Apply and enforce good development practices: clean code, SOLID principles, DRY, accessibility and maintainability.

Realization

• Collaborate within the team of 3 developers on the different migration batches.
• Upgrade the Design System to Angular 22 and adapt existing components.
• Develop and rewrite the application components in semantic HTML and Angular CDK to replace PrimeNG (presentational components, overlays/navigation, responsive form controls, data tables).
• Optimize code and rendering performance (response time, memory management, OnPush lifecycle).
• Organize refactoring by simplifying existing code and eliminating outdated dependencies.
• Actively participate in cross-code reviews.
• Develop and validate unit tests (Vitest) in a zoneless environment to ensure non-regression and high coverage.
• Perform corrective and evolutionary maintenance of components.

Deployment

• Validate the deployment and delivery of the solution (ng-packagr packaging under Bun, publication of libraries).
• Ensure that the library behaves correctly in the Showcase application and in the runtime environments of consumer applications.

Quality

• Ensure the quality of developments in line with CLIENT's corporate standards and SonarQube rules.
• Ensure compliance with the Digital Accessibility Criteria (WCAG 2.1 Level AA).
• Ensure that deadlines and milestones of the delivery plan are met.
• Adopt best practices for reducing technology debt (clean code, upgrades, removal of external dependencies).

Communication

• Communicate regularly with the various project stakeholders (Team Leader, Architect, UX/UI team) and give transparent feedback on the assigned activities.
• Assist the Team Leader in the qualification, evaluation and division of work packages in the agile monitoring tool.
