- As Expert Engineer – Conditioning Techniques, you are responsible for the technical substantiation, quality assurance, and documentation regarding the conditioning of radioactive waste.
- You combine sound technical and chemical insight with a strong affinity for QA/QC, documentation, and regulations . You ensure that it can be demonstrated in a substantiated and traceable manner that the conditioning techniques used and the resulting end products meet the applicable quality and acceptance criteria.
- In this role, you work closely with operations engineers, laboratory technicians, and other technical experts. You do not need to design the conditioning processes yourself, but you must possess sufficient technical knowledge to understand processes, mortar compositions, analyses, and test results in detail and to correctly assess them.
Result areas
- Drafting, managing, and updating accreditation and technical files relating to conditioning techniques.
- Collecting, structuring, and processing technical information, analysis results, and quality data.
- Provide technical substantiation that the applied conditioning processes and end products meet the applicable requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Monitoring the completeness, correctness, consistency, and traceability of the files.
- Following up on files throughout the entire accreditation or assessment process.
- Supporting quality assurance regarding conditioning processes and products.
- Interpreting QA/QC data and technical results.
- Assisting in assessing and documenting deviations.
- Verify whether results comply with established specifications, procedures, and criteria.
- Contribute to the correct and demonstrable application of applicable quality requirements.
- Analyzing and interpreting results from laboratory tests and technical investigations.
- Collaborating with laboratory technicians and other technical specialists in the assessment of test results.
- Critically analyze results and translate them into technically substantiated conclusions.
- Establishing connections between material properties, mortar compositions, applied conditioning techniques, and the final result.
- Incorporate relevant findings into technical notes and accreditation dossiers.
- Building and maintaining expertise in conditioning techniques.
- Acquiring a thorough understanding of the applied processes and techniques, including the composition and properties of mortars and conditioning matrices.
- Follow technical information, standards, procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Understand the existing technical operation and be able to critically evaluate it without being personally responsible for process or plant design.
- Contribute to the safeguarding and transfer of knowledge within the team.
- Supporting the operations engineers from their own domain of expertise.
- Act as a substantive sparring partner for questions regarding conditioning, quality, and file compilation.
- Analyze and structure technical information so that it is usable within accreditation and quality dossiers.
- Collaborating with various internal disciplines to gather information correctly and on time.
- Formulate well-founded advice based on the available data.
- Working within a highly regulated and quality-driven environment.
- Follow procedures and agreements closely.
- Document technical decisions and conclusions clearly, in a structured and verifiable manner.
- Ensuring a high degree of accuracy, consistency, and administrative quality.
- Handling extensive files and long-running accreditation processes patiently and carefully.
DESIRED PROFILE:
- You hold a Master's degree in a chemical, industrial, or technical-scientific field , or possess an equivalent level through relevant experience.
- You preferably have at least 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience in a technical and/or highly regulated environment.
- You possess sufficient chemical and technical insight to understand and critically evaluate processes, materials, analyses, and test results.
- Experience with QA/QC, quality dossiers, validation, qualification, or accreditation dossiers is a significant asset.
- Experience within, for example, the chemical industry, nuclear sector, pharmaceutical industry, or a GMP-regulated environment would be a good fit for this position.
- Knowledge of cement chemistry, mortars, concrete technology, or conditioning techniques is a plus, but not an absolute requirement if you are willing to delve deeper into these areas.
- You can analyze, structure, and translate technical information into clear and well-substantiated dossiers.
- You work smoothly with the Microsoft Office suite .
- You are eager to learn and willing to delve into the content of a specialized technical domain.
