  • Support developers in deploying, maintaining, and optimizing web applications and related infrastructure.
  • Drive updates and maintenance of virtual machines (VMs), ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Advise on improvements and best practices, leveraging your expertise to future-proof the infrastructure.
  • Engage in a comprehensive onboarding process to rapidly gain deep knowledge of the client’s infrastructure and workflows.
  • Work collaboratively with the department manager and cross-functional teams to deliver on key projects and operational goals.

Technical Skills & Expertise

  • Expert-level proficiency in Ansible for automation and configuration management.
  • Deep experience with Linux server administration, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Advanced knowledge of Apache and Tomcat for web application hosting and management.
  • Strong command of Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance.
  • Proficient in GIT for version control and collaborative development workflows.
  • Solid understanding of Java environments and application deployment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in security best practices for infrastructure and application layers.
  • Exceptional communication skills, able to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.

What We’re Looking For

  • Builder mindset: You take ownership, thrive on solving complex problems, and are driven by impact.
  • Proven experience in DevOps roles, ideally supporting both maintenance and project-based work in dynamic environments.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a collaborative team member, providing backup and leadership as needed.
  • Strong advisory skills, with a passion for sharing knowledge and elevating team capabilities.
  • Experience in supporting and mentoring developers on infrastructure and deployment best practices.
  • Comfortable with partial remote work and on-site collaboration in Brussels.

Language Proficiency

  • Professional proficiency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of French or Dutch is a plus, but not mandatory.

Other Requirements

  • Availability for a 4-month freelance engagement, with the possibility to start immediately after onboarding.
  • Willingness to participate in a 5-day onboarding to immerse in the client’s infrastructure and processes.
