About the Role

RELYzIT Talent is seeking a Business Project Manager - ICT Security & Compliance for an 8-month freelance assignment in Brussels. You will play a pivotal role in driving the implementation of the European NIS2 Directive within a major public sector organization. What You’ll Be Doing

• Support the business manager and NIS2 expert in translating technical cybersecurity requirements into organizational measures and business impact.
• Analyze and document the impact of NIS2 Asset Management (IDENTIFY) and Data & Platform Security (PROTECT) projects on business domains, processes, and stakeholders.
• Facilitate workshops and working sessions with multidisciplinary teams, including ICT, business, data owners, and CISO functions.
• Drive change management and communication initiatives to ensure organizational buy-in and awareness.
• Monitor project planning, milestones, and deliverables for both Asset Management and Data & Platform Security streams.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including project sheets, status reports, and progress overviews.
• Organize and follow up on steering groups, working groups, and review sessions, escalating risks and bottlenecks as needed.
• Map and describe current and target processes for asset and platform management, ensuring alignment with NIS2 and CyFun requirements.
• Contribute to the development and validation of policies, procedures, work instructions, and governance documentation.
• Ensure seamless alignment between technical security measures and organizational procedures.
• Prepare clear management and progress reports for program leadership and contribute to audit and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate closely with program managers, business managers, ICT security teams, business data owners, and external security providers to ensure project success.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, business administration, public administration, or equivalent through relevant experience.
• Minimum 4 years of demonstrable experience in project coordination or management within IT or security contexts.
• At least 3 years of experience in process analysis, policy development, and procedure documentation in regulated environments.
• Proven experience with stakeholder management and facilitating multidisciplinary working groups (minimum 3 years).
• Knowledge of the CyFun framework (CCB) and/or related frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF, or CIS Controls.
• Ownership mindset: you take initiative, drive outcomes, and thrive in complex, multi-actor environments.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a focus on clarity and impact.

Technical Skills & Tools

• Project Management (Confirmed): Proven ability to coordinate and deliver complex IT/security projects.
• Process Analysis & Design (Junior): Experience mapping and optimizing business processes.
• Policies & Procedures Evaluation (Junior): Ability to assess and develop organizational policies and procedures.
• Stakeholder Coordination (Junior): Skilled in managing relationships across diverse teams and departments.
• Familiarity with asset management tools or CMDB concepts (for IDENTIFY project) is a plus.
• Understanding of platform security principles or data categorization (for PROTECT project) is an asset.

Other Requirements & Assets

• Experience within federal government agencies or comparable public organizations is highly valued.
• Previous involvement in NIS2 implementation or cybersecurity programs is a strong advantage.
• Relevant certifications such as PMP, Prince2, CISM, or ISO 27001 Foundation/Lead Implementer are considered assets.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies is beneficial.

Language Proficiency

• Professional proficiency in English is required.
• Knowledge of French and/or Dutch is a significant advantage for stakeholder engagement.

• This is a freelance position for an initial duration of 8 months, based in Brussels with partial remote flexibility.
