Are you a Dutch-qualified lawyer who wants to shape how a leading gaming operator works in one of Europe's most closely watched markets? This is your chance to take full ownership of the regulatory side of a fast-growing business, with an attractive package that includes a company car and an annual bonus.
Our client is an established international operator in land-based and online gaming, covering casino games, sports betting and poker. The business keeps growing, and its teams are becoming more specialised as it creates new roles at the forefront of the industry. This is one of them.
As Regulatory Officer for the Dutch market, you will be the go-to person for all regulatory activity across our client's Dutch online brands. The role sits between regulatory and compliance work. Your mission is to keep the Dutch operations legally sound and running smoothly. You will work closely with group headquarters, the NL Compliance Officer and local stakeholders, and you will have real influence on how the business grows.
What you'll do
Regulatory: KSA relations, litigation and compliance
- Act as a key legal point of contact for the KSA (Kansspelautoriteit), together with the Group Regulatory and Compliance teams.
- Coordinate the maintenance and renewal of the Dutch gaming licences with the group legal and regulatory teams, Compliance and external counsel.
- Own all regulatory and statutory notifications to the KSA under the Dutch Gambling Act, licence conditions and KSA policies. This means assessing what triggers a notification, coordinating internally, gathering evidence, submitting on time through the KSA portal, and following up on feedback until formal closure.
- Help internal teams understand what the KSA expects, and turn that into concrete processes, documentation and controls.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments in the Dutch online gambling market and keep relevant teams informed.
- Advise on commercial initiatives such as promotions, campaigns, partnerships and new features, so decisions stay within Dutch regulations and internal risk appetite.
- Report on and coordinate litigation at group level, covering B2B, B2C and authorities.
Legal governance of customer support and player complaints
- Give legal support to Compliance, Customer Support and Responsible Gaming for the NL market. This includes escalated player complaints with possible regulatory impact, how terms and conditions, bonus rules and responsible gaming measures are interpreted and applied, and keeping communication templates and procedures aligned with legal requirements.
- Make sure player-facing processes comply with regulations, including KYC, responsible gaming, complaints handling and withdrawals.
- Create and maintain internal guidelines for the Dutch customer support teams.
Your profile
- Master's degree in Dutch law and 3–5 years of relevant experience
- Fluent Dutch and English, written and spoken; French is a plus
- Focused on solutions and results
- Able to analyse issues in depth and find creative, pragmatic solutions
- A team player who also works well independently
- Comfortable with Word, Excel, Outlook and online communication tools
