About the Role

RELYzIT Talent is seeking an experienced .NET Azure DevOps Engineer to join our client’s dynamic IT Services department in Brussels for a 4-month freelance engagement. As part of a high-impact platform team, you’ll empower development teams by making Azure Cloud platforms robust, scalable, and reusable. This is your opportunity to shape the digital backbone supporting self-employed entrepreneurs across Belgium, driving social and economic well-being through technology.

As a .NET Azure DevOps Engineer, you’ll be instrumental in building and maintaining the Azure Cloud platform, enabling agile teams to deliver secure, high-quality applications at scale. Your work will directly impact the efficiency, reliability, and future-readiness of critical digital services used by thousands.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable .NET components using C# and ASP.NET Core, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and well-documented for use by multiple development teams.
• Build and optimize Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines using C#, PowerShell, YAML, and Bicep, driving automation and deployment excellence.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional, agile teams (developers, testers, architects, product owners, scrum masters) within a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environment to deliver software iteratively and incrementally.
• Participate actively in PI (Program Increment) Planning and other Agile ceremonies, contributing to team alignment and delivery cadence.
• Analyze and resolve complex technical issues, providing expert-level support and mentoring to less experienced colleagues both within and outside your team.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce code quality standards, and ensure comprehensive testing through unit, integration, and other QA methods.
• Contribute to and review technical documentation, fostering knowledge sharing and best practices across teams.
• Lead by example in technical leadership, coaching, and continuous improvement of development processes and software quality.
• Stay ahead of trends and advancements in Azure, DevOps, and .NET technologies, proactively integrating new methodologies and tools.

Technical Skills

• Confirmed expertise in .NET development: C# and ASP.NET Core
• Strong experience with Azure Cloud and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
• Proficiency in PowerShell, YAML, and Bicep for infrastructure as code and automation
• Basic SQL knowledge
• Experience with GIT version control (junior level)
• Nice to have: WCF, Blazor, gRPC, GitHub Enterprise

Language Proficiency

• Native proficiency in either Dutch or French
• Working knowledge (oral and written) of the second local language (Dutch or French)
• Understanding of English

Other Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar DevOps or software engineering role
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum and SAFe environments
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex technical concepts to technical stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset
• Continuous learner, passionate about new technologies and methodologies
• Collaboration-oriented, adaptable, and flexible in handling changing priorities
• Proven ability to coach and mentor technical colleagues
• Hybrid work arrangement: 2 days onsite in Brussels, 3 days remote
