BI & Data expert

Context

• You will join a self-managing SCRUM data team of SAP BI and MS Azure data experts, within which you will carry out the following activities:
• In consultation with information analysts, you will make functional analyses/specifications and discuss them with the various stakeholders (you will also take care of the validation of the documents).
• Based on the information needs, you develop the data model in accordance with the Client BI regulations.
• You are responsible for the technical implementation within an SAP BW/HANA environment and/or MS Azure environment from extraction to final report
• You follow the common development cycle within the respective environments.
• You check the work carried out on the basis of a predefined test plan and help to make the test data available to be able to carry out the test cases.
• You ensure that your work fits within our monitoring and alerting set-up so that all errors are immediately visible so that the agreed service levels can be achieved.
• You keep the documentation up to date and develop overarching communication and training materials.
• You are responsible for the lifecycle management and updates/upgrades of the existing environments.
• You assist the data team in solving technical issues.
• Based on your expertise, you make improvement proposals within the Client Data & BI framework.
• You assist business in the use of the data analytics tools or give them training.
• You contribute to the future of BI in the Client framework, prepare the customer for future innovations and guide them through the introduction of these changes.

• Client is building a hybrid data and information landscape that is a combination of an SAP-oriented platform (BW(4) and HANA) and a Databricks data platform on a Microsoft Azure Cloud environment with Power BI as a reporting tool. Various sources and applications are accessed to these platforms, built in different data and information layers, and integrated with each other to build (advanced) analytics use cases and reports.
• In addition, a domain-oriented organization of data teams has been set up in which the data and BI specialists work on the data and information products of the specific domain.
• For the further development of data products in this hybrid data landscape in the Grid Operation domain, we are looking for an experienced Data & BI consultant, who can use his SAP BI, Databricks and PowerBI expertise to work on various projects and the execution of maintenance assignments on the existing platforms.
• Thanks to your expertise and technical background, you can handle the demand of the business "end-to-end": you are therefore responsible for the needs analysis, for the technical design, the data modeling in SAP BW&HANA systems (both BW, BW4 and Native HANA) and the Azure Databricks data platform, as well as the visualization/reporting in SAP BI reporting tools or PowerBI. You guide the customer through the entire delivery process.
• You will also provide support to keep the SAP BI and Azure Databricks platforms operational:
• Executing and following up on the daily "keep it running" activities
• Incident & Problem management
• Following up and assisting with planned interventions
• Follow-up change & release process
   
• In addition, you are the point of contact to the business and you provide functional support to the business users in the Grid Operation domain.
