(Senior) Scientist Protein Separations

• Deep scientific understanding and practical know-how of separation of protein biopharmaceuticals  

• Proven HPLC and CE method development skills for mAbs, bispecifics, ADCs, antibody fragments, fusion proteins, enzymes, … 

• Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE) and Analytical Quality by Design (AQbD) is a plus 

• Experienced in sample preparation methodologies for proteins (labeling, digestion, clean-up, …) 

• High pressure, yes please 100Å pore size columns, no thank you 

• AEX, CEX, HIC, HILIC, RPLC, SEC, cIEF and CE-SDS are not just abbreviations but conversation starters 

• First-hand experience with detection techniques such as UV, FLD and MALS. Knowledge of protein mass spectrometry is a plus  

• Proteins, peptides and glycans are your favorite study objects, and you are always on the lookout for deamidation, isomerization, oxidation and other post-translational modifications 

• Hands-on experience with data processing using vendor or other software 

• Able to interpret complex data and link results across experiments/methodologies 

• Good insights in the biotech and pharma landscape (technical, scientific, regulatory, commercial)  

• Strong drive for technology improvement and innovation 

• Critical mindset, strong ownership, and attention to quality and detail 

• Team player, customer-oriented, problem-solving mindset, flexible attitude 

• Excellent communication and reporting skills, including review capabilities 

• Able to multitask and tackle complex scientific questions independently 

• Comfortable interacting with customers (scoping, technical discussions, presenting results) 

• Thrive in an environment with high responsibility and scientific ownership  

• Experience in coaching colleagues is a strong asset 

• Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, pharmacy or equivalent qualification through experience 

• For Scientist: minimum 3 years experience 

• For Senior Scientist: minimum 8 years experience 

• Fluent in English (written & oral)

• You develop and apply analytical methodologies for the separation, analysis and in-depth characterization of protein biopharmaceuticals  

• You handle complex and scientifically challenging projects for our biotech and pharma partners 

• You design and plan experiments, process data, capture findings in reports and communicate results to customers 

• You contribute to problem solving during experimental work 

• You implement and evaluate novel analytical technologies and methodologies 

• You manage multiple complex studies simultaneously 

• You coach and support team members, ensuring high-quality execution and reporting standards  

• You collaborate closely with colleagues to ensure strong project planning and execution 

• You align with management and commercial teams on strategic and technical decisions 

• You provide regular updates to customers on project progress and next steps 

• You contribute to training and knowledge sharing within your field of expertise 

• You report to the Team Lead
